A Renaissance School of Arts and Sciences

The Renaissance School of Arts and Sciences, an independent elementary school, is located in a quiet northwest section of Portland, Oregon. The sizable teaching and learning space is nestled in a beautiful brick building, formerly Rose’s Bakery, an historical landmark of cultural and community significance and now our new home. With spacious and huge windowed rooms, a light and welcoming entrance, and a huge space for (dreaming up) a theater, stage, and many wondrous happenings, our new place is perfect for creating a school for children. The facility is enhanced by outdoor space, one that we will fill (up) with laughter, play and our community garden.

Our neighborhood is lined with shady trees, opening onto a public park, a place for adventure, nature study, relaxation, contemplation, and imaginative play.  Brightly painted Victorian houses, a multitude of architectural styles, and many smaller businesses attest to the thriving context of this historic and intimate area.  Our urban setting, with its proximity to MAX and bus lines, allows us access to the city with its diverse cultural ambiance and art installations.  We are just minutes away from varied and lively learning opportunities found in a bustling civic center!
